The Tool Nut reviews DeWalt vs IRWIN Hybrid Clamps (Video)
Trying to figure out which clamp is right for you? The Tool Nut’s Doug and David talk about the recently released DeWalt ToughSeries Hybrid Clamp and its blue-colored counterpart, the IRWIN QUICK-GRIP Hybrid Clamp, to help you figure that out.
Designed for light to medium duty applications, each of these options offers an innovative and convenient material handling solution for the jobsite or home workbench. Featuring a “hybrid” design, both DeWalt clamps and IRWIN clamps are quick to adjust and set.
Trigger-activated step adjustment, combined with free-range micro setting, lets you fine tune up to 300 pounds of clamping force for your specifications (up to 800 pounds with the screw handle). Plus, each can be quickly swapped between clamp and spreader, adding even more versatility to these nifty tools.
Great for woodworking applications including joinery, these clamps are an excellent addition to any tool set. Both the DeWalt and IRWIN options are essentially identical, however, DeWalt's option is part of the ToughSeries line, so you may feel inclined to go yellow this time if you want that reassurance.
Both DeWalt and IRWIN Hybrid Clamps are available at The Tool Nut now!
