Shaft is hold together with three tiny 1/2' screwsThe whole shaft came of the drill because three tiny screws came loose behind the chuck. Manual provides no instructions on how to remove the chuck, so I cannot screw everything back. Very flimsy engineering for a hammer drill.

disappointedBought with the impression of superior quality, but the unit failed after a relatively short period of time with only sporadic use. The electric motor started to smoke even though it was not doing excessively hard work. The chuck also gradually seized up for no apparent reason and would not function even with attempts of lubrication.

Great drill for the jobMade drilling 5/8 holes in railroad ties easy. Very happy with this product. Do wise I had gotten the one with the case.

are part supposed to fall out?on the line between fair and poor, bought it a year and a half ago, maybe used for forty/fifty holes. Does not like to hold bits and read somebody else's review about tightening all three Jacob chuck holes. Is that really a thing?? First I heard been using drills since the sixties. Last weekend installing some tappets a small screw fell out and another is loose behind the chuck. Going to try and repair but will wind up buying a real tool. Milwaukee or Rigid

Great combinationBought 2 weeks ago for drill & hammer use. Very satisfied, could use a little more power.

Cut my drilling time down considerablyI Bought this about a month ago at my local Lowes as I needed something with a little more power to drill through some masonry. After reading reviews (even some negative) I settled on this one. People complained about the bits falling out but I never had an issuie with this. Apprently other posters didn't realize that you have to tighten all three spots for the chuck. As for it smoking I havent noticed any smoke/dust exceptfrom the mortor I was drilling through. I guess others may be be using it for things other than their intended purpose or over taxing it.

Tough, sturdy, powerfulDrill has withstood the times and a few good drops off a ladder or two.. is a heavy thing though and between that and its torque, it definitely is a two handed tool. Only bad aspect of it is the keyed jacobs chuck. I just replaced it with a keyless 7/8” for quick loading and to hold the bigger drills.. hammer action works well also, 13” of concrete, saved me a core drill..

Failed on 1st JobI bought this item less than a week ago. It overheated and began leaking oil on the first job. Granted, I was drilling 5/8" holes in concrete, but I bought this as a replacement for the terrible old Ryobi that we were previously using, which made a ton of noise, terrible vibration, and took forever to drill holes, even with a brand new masonry bit. Sadly, this was hardly more effective and it wound up leaking oil before all the holes were drilled.... will be returning today.

Makes Concrete Drilling EasyPurchased this to drill 3 holes in 8 inch’s of concrete. I also knew that I could use it as a regular drill. This was my first time using a hammer drill. I could not believe how easy it was to go though. I just let the weight of the drill do the work after reading tips.

PowerfulI purchased this corded hammer drill to finish a job a competitors 18v cordless hammer drill could not complete. Best purchase ever, blasted through brick like butter.
